Before the extreme heat arrived last week, I had two amazing experiences within a few days.
The first was meeting a friend at the Tucson Museum of Art to see the Biennial Exhibition . So many varied and thoughtful works in one place. My friend and I had a great time wandering around and chatting.
I also found some interesting pieces outside of the museum.

My other amazing experience was getting out to Sabino Canyon in search of water and finding it.

Sometimes I get so wrapped up in the immediate that I forget to do things that bring me joy.
Hiking for me has always been less about recreation and more about spirituality. I need to connect with my temple on a regular basis to feel more at peace as a person. My foot has been causing me some pain lately, so I only went to the dam and back. I’m so glad I went. I returned replenished.
In other news, I had a good thing happen! I was chosen to write an article for a magazine about food. It’s a broad nebulous topic that is slowly simmering in the skillet right now. Details to follow once it’s published.
Stay cool however you can.
