Writer, Weaver, and Storyteller

Weaving words and wisdom

Intuitive Tapestry Weaver

I can keep big pictures and stories in mind, while refining details.

Lifelong Learner

As a mother of a tween, educational specialist, and former children’s librarian, I strive to make learning fun.

Copy Editor and Writer

Words matter. And how they are presented matters as well.

Solution Oriented DIY’er

I practice by doing and experimenting and accept failure as a part of the learning process.

Maker of Quirky Items

I find joy in the strange and weird. Do you too? I now have a POD store.

Brewer, Gardener, Hiker

I reclaim ancient knowledge, spaces, and ways to connect with previously hidden ancestral paths.

Writer

I have written in many types of formats – academic, informational, and fictional. I once wrote a rhyming play about the summer reading program where I worked and performed it with a coworker and puppets to an elementary school. The kids loved it.

My portfolio can be found here.

Weaver

I primarily weave tapestries and baskets made from discarded wires and often use repurposed items and upcycled textiles in my work. I am also learning how to use other types of looms – rigid heddle, inkle, and a Swedish counterbalance floor loom.

It’s that time of the year when the veils are thin between the Otherworlds and ours. Expect strange synchronicities, sudden coincidences, or unusual happenings. Maybe breakthrough communications? I’m not a religious person. I am a spiritual person. If I had to name my spirituality, it would be Celtic Pagan Star Wars.

A Shared Moment of Deep Connection

So there’s this moment of time At the end of the night Where the cat sits on my chest And purrs Her deep, rumbly purrs And flicks her sleek, smooth tail Against my arm. My eyes close And I feel so calm And so at peace. That’s what I’m missing from my day. That peace.…

It’s been a long week that, thankfully, kept improving after Monday. It’s been a week of lots of deep breathing. It’s been a week of change. Both externally and internally. After my supervisor had a one on one meeting with my library’s director, I was assured that I wouldn’t have to worry about working on…

This morning I had cooperation from my child! It makes all the difference in the world. We only left the house 5 minutes behind schedule. And we found three lost items in the lost and found at my son’s remote learning site – jacket, hat, and (most importantly) charger for the laptop! On the way…

I even drew a picture to go with… This was just my morning purge. I actually had a couple of decent work hours before my supervisor shared some really disturbing news with me. Apparently, my so called leaders in administration have no problem with adding more burden to the shoulders of those already dealing with…

The richest country in the world where working parents struggle everyday – even before the pandemic – to figure out child care. My child has been going to the same facility since May. Depending on the season, it is either a camp or a remote learning and after school site. Some working parents have jobs…

It’s been a rough patch of life. Lots of ups and downs. At least the ups have been really good. Reconnecting with an old friend good. The kind of friend that might bring over bagels on a Sunday morning because she was in the neighborhood. Back when I used to eat bagels. And instead of…

  • Not a review

Apparently it’s been 4 years since I last posted on this site and just last week I picked up a new follower….. It’s been four years because time slips away from me and book reviews take time. I have been blogging about other facets of life on my other site. I have dreams of someday…

  • Reacquainted with the Boss

Just a link to a short review of a wonderful movie I watched this past weekend – it’s called Blinded by the Light. I actually didn’t read the description of the movie when I checked it out from the library. I just knew that it had to do with Bruce Springsteen’s music. At the beginning…

After a horrible morning yesterday of trying to get out of the door with my son in a reasonable amount of time – not late for work – I chose to start today by giving myself more. I hit the snooze button and laid in bed for an extra ten minutes. I wish I could…
