And now it’s Fall

Autumn seemed to come later this year, but maybe that’s because we had so many scorching hot days through August and into September.

I’ve been making lots of neck gaiters – a few of which are now listed in my shop. It’s still too warm for scarves here, but maybe in a couple of weeks I can start wearing the one I kept for myself.

They are very cozy feeling. Some of the thicker fleece ones seems like they might do a good job of keeping wind out.

I’ve also been spending time with a book about tapestries.

The Art Is the Cloth by Micala Sidore.

I checked this out from my guild’s library. It’s filled with amazing works from around the world. Open to any page and be amazed. And of course, it makes me want to weave more. And to try some of these other ways of making.

I’m currently working on a cartoon for my next tapestry project and still figuring out how to finish a couple of works. I bought some black paint for one of them. There’s a painting part and a sewing part.

And I got some more felted mushrooms attached to a creosote stick for another mushroom mobile. They look pretty good, but no pictures yet.
