After the rain

The rain came last week and my neighborhood finally got a good soaking. I think the whole city did. I know I did on my way to and from a medical appointment. I live too close to it not to walk. Plus it wasn’t raining when I left the house. I had on my raincoat and it waited until I got to the end of the block. Then it started coming down.

By the time I’d crossed the giant parking lots, one side of my shorts was soaked. But it was the quickest appointment ever. No waiting – in and out. I didn’t mind getting even more soaked on the way home.

Tucson is looking a lot greener.

Water in a canyon outside of Tucson.

And I finally finished the band I was working on for so long.

I’m close to finishing my latest open warp tapestry. I’m trying not to start any new weaving projects until I finish this.

Getting there

Oh, and got a tapestry off the loom a while back, but I still haven’t truly finished it because I haven’t framed it yet.

Still working on getting this mounted.

I think I may have found a frame and mounting material, but I haven’t put it together yet. This one will go somewhere in my son’s room, I think, since it’s a re-creation of one of his artworks.

I’m also working on sewing the borders on some wet felted mushrooms. I’m making some mushroom mobiles. And sometimes doing some rage baking.

I really love the photographs of the baked items in the cookbook. There’s a chocolate cake in there I definitely want to try, but I don’t want to be the one making it.
