Raw

Things have been so hard, so hard. And yet, and yet, and yet…

I know I have so much to be grateful for – it’s just hard for me to see. It’s always been much easier for me to see what is not going right rather than what is going right.

I need to start keeping lists.

I stubbed my toe so hard yesterday I thought it might be broken. But it’s not and for that I am grateful. I wrote a poem last night as well. I’m grateful that the words came to me when I could jot them down. It’s too raw and depressing to post here, so instead I’ll share a different poem by one of my favorite poets:

I Go Down To The Shore

I go down to the shore in the morning
and depending on the hour the waves
are rolling in or moving out,
and I say, oh, I am miserable,
what shall-
what should I do? And the sea says
in its lovely voice:
Excuse me, I have work to do.

Sarah, I tried to make a comment but the page would not accept my e-mail. So I’ll try to repeat it here: I hope the struggles have lessened. Try to get some sleep. Call a friend, friends. You are loved. Mom❤🎶🐘
