Mental Health Day

I took the day off from work today because I needed too. Life has been giving me lots of challenges lately and I just need to catch my breath.

My major challenge has been dealing with my son’s strong emotions surrounding why he doesn’t get to see his dad regularly for a while. His dad needs treatment and is finally hopefully getting it. It been a long two plus weeks – where the weekends don’t feel very restful at all.

So I haven’t done much today – a little gardening, cooking, etc…

I’ve been working on a strap for a bag for my son. I think I may have finished it – I need to measure it against his body. It’s made from old produce bags.

He’ll be thrilled when I finally get his bag finished. I will be too.

I’ll try responding again, Sarah. My new computer with its Windows 10 program is irritating and irrational! When I tried to respond last night I was also out of it because I had gotten no sleep the night before; your dad makes a lot of noise breathing!

“Gone fishing” days are very important. I remember them well. I’m sure Maka will be fine because he has you for his mom. And as he grows he will be able to understand more about his dad. And maybe his dad will do a little growing also. As you know, mental illness takes a toll on all who are related to the one who is ill.

I hope you are feeling better today. If I remember correctly the “deluge” begins tomorrow. Martha Cooper’s patrons are fortunate to have you not just because you are an exemplary librarian but because you are a caring person. So keep flashing what Donna Billings referred to correctly as your “stunning” smile.

    Love, Mom
