Now comes the funner part

So I finally warped my rigid heddle!

I’m certain I have crossed threads, but I’m rolling with them.

I lay down my starting weave that will be taken out at the end.

It’s not dirt on my toes – just old nail polish that I don’t want to remove with chemicals.

This step is done to help straighten out the warp strings and to help with the tension (I think).

Then I wanted to do a part that will likely not be seen, but might help with mounting when it comes off the loom.

This shuttle was way too small, and I won’t use it again on this project.

Once my band was large enough, I put down a row of soumack as a border.

The row of soumack established the starting point for the tapestry.

And now I’m ready to start with the fun part – picture making.

I plan to get myself some bobbins soon, but for now I’m trying out a range of shuttles.
