New projects

I thought by now, I’d have my rigid heddle loom warped and ready to weave, but it’s not.

It’s a new loom and I did not factor enough time for learning things the hard way.

At least it’s not a tangled mess anymore. The wind was not helping me out, even though I tried to get it done before the windy times. I did not get my warp centered (even though I thought I was…) I also think that I may have some crossed warp threads and I’m not sure about my warp tension. So this is going to be quite the learning piece.

I made so many mistakes in this process…

On other looms, I have some new snake warps ready and an intuitive piece with lots of blue.

I’m trying to weave finger puppets this time.
Early stage of an intuitive weaving.

I volunteered to be at the Pima County Fair tomorrow to demonstrate tapestry weaving for the Tucson Handweavers & Spinners Guild, so I have to hold off on finishing warping the other loom, because I know it’s going to take a while….

The tapestry nook at the fair.

Meanwhile, I’ve been dreaming of getting a floor loom….
