I spent a lot of time yesterday working with my experimental wedge weaving.
What I thought would be fairly straightforward turned out to be quite the learning process. My original mistakes led to lots of time spent trying to undo knots.

I was surprised at how hard I had to pull on the warp strings to see the textured portions. And I had to take out the jean scraps to really get good pulls.

After I pulled and re-knotted the warp strings, I still had to figure out how to mount it on the stick I wanted to use.
I’m super pleased with this first try at pulled warp.

Here are some more different angles to show how the weaving bulged and dipped.

On a completely different note, I am considering shutting down this website and merging my work here with another site.
I took some advice a couple of years ago and started using this site just for weaving. It used to be weaving and writing.
From this point in my life it feels like bad advice and I don’t want more than one website right now.
I want one place where I can showcase various stories in various formats. I don’t want to divide myself or my art by format. It’s not a final decision, but I don’t think I will renew this website.
