I feel great to have finally finished my son’s new straps for his bag. I over estimated how much fabric I would need for it, but better too much than too little. I also made it longer than he would need for now, anticipating more growth in future years.

While I might have chosen different colors to work with, if I had them on hand, I used what I had – which were the bright blue colors. He said he was happy with the color arrangement so, yay.
We had a rainy day on Saturday where we spent most of the day indoors. We did, however, get to an open house at our local fire department, and I was able to snap a picture of the bag while being used.

Other projects are coming along – I’m close to finishing my circle weaving. I just need to think about how I want to finish it. I’m also working on new decorative ornaments. I hope to have a sale on them in the next month or so. I’m also looking into print on demand for other items to offer in the store. And I’m thinking of redoing my homepage into a gallery after seeing it on another artist’s website.
I hope I can get back to a regular posting schedule now that my schedule as an instructional librarian has become more stable.
This move to New York has been challenging in all sorts of ways, but I definitely feel like I am where I should be right now. I am really enjoying the autumn season. It’s getting cooler and there is that smell of decay in the air that comes from wet fallen leaves. It’s very different from the smell of creosote (which I miss terribly). But I keep looking at the temps in Tucson and it is still so crazy hot there. I’m happy to not be in 90 plus degree weather right now.
