Long Island is Green and Humid

After a week on the road, we finally made it to our new home late Friday night.

It was certainly my most stressful drive yet. A lot of that had to do with Budget car rental thinking it’s fine to send a car on a cross country journey with a screw in the tire. I will never rent a car with them again if I have any other option.

Our new place has a beautiful bay window, that the dog thinks is pretty neat. But she shouldn’t be in it and that’s a new challenge. It’s fine for the cat, but not for her. (The cat did great on the road trip. She yowled a bit at first, but then got into the rhythm of the road.)

I have not picked up any fibers to work with in over two weeks, with the exception of a bracelet I worked on in Pueblo, CO at Big O Tires while waiting for the car tires to be looked at.

And we are still waiting for our movers to show up with our stuff. The sales dude said whatever he needed to make the sale. Like he told us there would be a crew to help pack everything and it ended up being one guy with a trailer. And he told us our stuff would arrive a few days after us. And when I called yesterday, I was told it would arrive 10-21 business days after us. I’m sorry but I don’t think 15 days is a few (or even 10). Next time I’m going with Uhaul than this supposedly better deal….

I’ve learned a lot from this move.

We did get into some salt water for a bit on Sunday and that felt great!

Some lovely water

And the hibiscus here are large and beautiful.

A happy hibiscus

Hopefully by next week I’ll be feeling better. I’m still running on too much stress trying to get everything done….

Glad you made it! I hope that you’re settling in and that life is becoming less stressful.
