I’m excited to be finishing a series of four mini tapestries of elemental spirits. While I still have the water spirit on the loom, I hope to finish the fringe work in the next few days.

I started working on this series after my mentoring session with Denise Gasser in April. I wanted to work on some smaller tapestries. This idea evolved after I realized that my first mini was an earth spirit. And while I started with an earth spirit, today I want to share the fire spirit.

The form and shape of the flame is a bit of a surprise to me. This was an intuitive piece with no set plan ahead of time.
