To all the Star Wars fans in the world- I am wishing you a force filled day.
I shall be concentrating on celebrating my wins today.
I’ve been struggling lately with time management and how long it takes me to complete certain tasks – especially related to setting up an online store and learning how to use aspects of technology I have never encountered before. I don’t actually feel like I have a lot to celebrate.
However when I think about how much I have tackled in the last year, I know I have traveled light years!

Last May the 4th, I was still working as a children’s librarian at Martha Cooper Library. It was a huge day for me, because I had a special May the 4th storytime in the morning (outside – since we were still not doing indoor programing) followed by a Star Wars celebration that included some special visitors. At that point in time, I was still under the impression that the library would close for it’s giant remodel in June and was working on packing up the branch. Maybe one or two weeks after this picture was taken, was when I learned that the branch closure date was pushed back until November.
That meant a bunch of scrambling at work to figure out summer programing at the last minute. (Which I did quite well because I am both excellent at programming and work well under pressure – even if I’d rather not).
I brought back indoor storytimes in August, piloted a new program with a new partner – Watershed Management Group – at the request of an administrator, dealt with the death of my dog, adopted a new dog, finally traveled to see family, and packed up the branch before leaving my job and heading off into my next adventure.
And that doesn’t even get into meeting a whole new, very large family to which I am biologically related. Or understanding how my ADHD has affected me my whole life (having just been diagnosed a little over a year ago.)
And while I may be a bit dismayed to not be further along my path, at least I know that I am on the right one.
