And it’s May!

Happy May Day!

I had a busy weekend at home both playing under eucalyptus trees and experimenting with weaving young branches trimmed from them.

Hello tree!

I’ve enjoyed incorporating bits of the natural world in my weavings. I’ve also been thinking a lot about marketing and displays. And using what I have.

I’ve noticed that eucalyptus has some really awesome curves in its branches. And the young branches are quite pliable. I made a bunch of various shapes to weave within and around.

I was originally thinking of just making hoops, but some of the branches seemed to twine much more easily into other shapes.

One really great thing about this experiment was the smell. I love the smell of eucalyptus in the sun.

A lovely smelling work space.

I also spent time taking some photos of a woven carafe. It’s one of those weird things I made that I have no idea how to market…

A strange brew

I hope to start loading some of these strange items I have into the store this week.

Cheers!
