It’s been a workday, that’s for sure. It’s the first day back at school for my son after being off for two weeks. And it’s the first day I dove into business operations in 2023. I may be learning website building and tweaking, but nothing reeks of business more than sales.

So today was going to be the day where I got my Etsy store up and running. I had my son help me make a quick 15 second video. I got my first item‘s photos, descriptions, and alt texts uploaded and written.

Where I got hung up? The getting paid part. The button for connecting to plaid did nothing for me. So I went there and created an account, but then couldn’t figure things out from that end. Then I thought maybe I needed the app instead so I downloaded that. And it told me that I hadn’t created an account….. at that point I just need a break.

Later in the day my mom called to let me know that she had an idea about a gift for my cousin (whose birthday is coming up). She wants to purchase one of my pieces for her.

So I am finding my flow bypasses Etsy for the day. I sent her photos of everything I have ready except for this piece (which I am still hoping to sell through Etsy since I’ve done all this work…. But maybe this is a sign that I should consider Shopify).
