Yesterday I called in sick. I said I wasn’t feeling well. Which wasn’t not true. But I haven’t been feeling well for a couple of years at least. The real reason I called in had to do with “self care” and holding myself accountable.

For the past few years I have been mulling over starting my own business….

I actually had a great conversation with my bookkeeper back in May about the ins and outs and what kind of business, etc. She is so awesome! She did not charge me for her time on this – it was pro bono.

So then I had a plan, but life stuff came up. Then it got so close to the end of the year, that it just seemed better to wait. I told myself January.

Well January is almost over.

But I submitted my registration paperwork for my business yesterday and applied for my trade name (which I’ve already been using). It took me a few hours to do this. Some of that was just updating my tech.

So I am feeling good today. (I also got some of the ever present legos put away.)

I also finished putting the Lego tuk tuk back together. But I couldn’t find one of the pieces for the front, so I stuck in some tusks I had instead.

I plan to do some weaving today.

Wire weaving – I’m working on the base to what will be a multi fiber pitcher using a repurposed plastic base to an old French press.

Anyway, my business will be legit in a few weeks and then I can try to start selling something. (After I figure out e-commerce and stores).
