The gift of no power

This morning was a gift wrapped in cold – a bubble of protection brought by power line work in the neighborhood. I believe it is important to have access to information – which is what drew me to field of work. And I believe it is important to protect each other. When others don’t believe they should try to protect me, it makes me angry, sad, and frustrated.

So I welcomed the lack of power at the library this morning. I welcomed feeling the warm sun against the cooler air as I stood outside pacing while the electricians figured out what went wrong.

I am grateful for this gift this morning. Thank you.
